Hekel Doodskou MCD |
More than five years after the unholy pact to resurrect this demo was sealed, and 13 years after it's original recording, the official cd repress of Hekel their first and only demonstration cassette 'Doodskou', is finally released. Cloaked in a dark, hateful and spiritual aura, it left a big impression on the Dutch underground, recorded in a time before internet-hypes, image-driven "black" metal kids and easy-listening pop metal. Only few bands still have this kind of dedication nowadays... After the 'Doodskou', Hekel dissapeared back into their forest. Take this only chance to let these infamous recordings from the hateful past transcend you. The material is taken from the orginal tape and is not remastered for nice clean sound. Just some tape-hiss was removed, but the actual sound is not changed. CD is limited to 666 copies.

Monads Intellectus iudicat veritatem digipack CD €9 |
Monads surprised everyone with their debutdemo 'Intellectus Iudicat Veritatem'. Initially released by the band on musicasette, all tapes were sold out after six days. Monads combine elements of slow and dragging funeral doom with melodic death/doom parts. The combination is a completely crushing, heavy and unique atmosphere. Once in a while we are surprised with influences from other styles, like in 'Broken gates to nowhere', where we find ourselves drifting away on a post-rock influenced second half, reminding of Daturah, God is an Astronaut and Mono; or 'Absent as in these veins', which ends in a fiery and fast blastbeat climax. Now, finally, the demo has been released on deluxe digipak CD by Ordo MCM / Despondency Records / Heidens Hart.
Murw Kanker cd €10|
Long awaited debut album of Murw out now on cd and lp. One of The Netherlands' best kept secrets returns with a truly stunning and groundbreaking album of progressive death/doom metal. Extraordinary, unconventional and creative songwriting, this album is nearly impossible to compare with any existing band or fit in any existing genre. Murw is not a newcomer one-day-fly performing a cheap, new gimmick trying to stand out. Throughout their history, dating back to the early 90s where the band already did shows supporting Emperor for example, they've shown a unique own style of music, culminating into "Kanker".
"A very impressive work. Multifaceted and unconventional, yet never too twisted. Recommended to everyone who likes original music, that despite experiments or progressive elements, is still dark and traditional."
